The Go-To Guide on How NOT to Do Wedding Invitations

To all my new bridezillas who are shaking off the reverie of post holiday-engagement bliss and are ready to get down to business:

Step One - let the world know. Coming up soon, your wedding invitations are going out and, while it seems easy enough (lick, seal, stamp, send), who knew there was so much you could screw up?

I came across this 29-Part Guide to Royally Messing Up Your Wedding Invitations and it rocked my world. Well, rocked is a strong word, but it definitely opened my eyes to some boo-boos from my own wedding invitations.

#7: Combine alcohol and hand-addressing your wedding invitations. Whoops. You know a Bridezilla loves her Gin Fizzies.

At least I remembered to proofread!

Typo on a Wedding Invitation

Full of important Wedding Invitation Don'ts dipped in good advice with a hint of sarcasm, this a great go-to guide for a bridezilla with a hankering for all things traditional. For all those alterna-brides out there ready to make a stand against convention, you will at least know what rules you are breaking when you choose not to include directions with your invitations (tip #6). Bridezillas don't do anything by accident.

Swoon List: Shop Go Girl

As you begin wedding planning, you'll find that your social calendar triples with everyone wanting to hang out with you (no doubt competing for that coveted bridesmaid position). How do sophisticated ladies like us keep it all together and all our little tricks a secret? A lint roller won't fit in your tiny clutch and apparel tape isn't something you want other people to see you carrying around.

Go Girl has a selection of adorable, girl-friendly products made for bridezillas. I tried the lint-on-the-go-sheets and enjoyed "de-linting" my special blue coat while en route to a party. Pretty handy.

Besides apparel tape, They also have smudge sponges, emergency heel repair kits, and the elegant bride wedding purse. Just based on cuteness alone, Go Girl gets a bridezilla b+.

The Organza Extravaganza: Wedding Fashion Show Highlights

Last weekend, bridezilla went to the biggest wedding show in the West. Although team bridezilla couldn't find the cocktail booth (after hours of walking around with a giant bag of swag), we did manage to make it to the wedding fashion show.

Our fashion finds: Black is making a serious comeback. It might be the new wedding white! We also noticed that bridesmaid dresses are getting seriously short (above the knee) and seriously cute.

Here are some of our favorite dresses. Stay tuned for more highlights from the wedding show. And comment below with your personal favorite gown.

Bridezilla's Picks:

Black and white weddings are making a comeback. We like how this fuchsia bouquet pops against the white gown. However, the hat is a bit too Kentucky Derby for us.

A glimpse of our favorite bridesmaid dress in the show - it's plum delicious!

We adore this romantic, ruffled gown. So traditional and yet so chic.

This bridesmaid gown is universally flattering and elegant. It's yards better than those mass produced, prom-dress lookalikes.

Cool Wedding Sites in Crappy Towns Relaunches: Nominate Your Favorite!

cool wedding sites crappy towns cool bands crappy towns.png

Big news in 'zillaland: One of our bridesmaid minions scours the airwaves in search of bridezilla mentions and she heard something that's like music to our ears -- the bridezilla blog was mentioned on Jackie and Bender, a hilarious morning show on KISS FM Seattle! (By the way, Jackie and Bender, we're actually not related to that TV show).

They mentioned bridezilla because of our Cool Wedding Sites in Crappy Town series, which was inspired by KISS FM's popular contest.

We're at it again. The coolest wedding sites in the crappiest towns will get a write up on bridezilla. Here's your chance to nominate the best, the most baller wedding locale in a town so crappy no bridezilla would dare step her stiletto on the soil.

Is there a cool castle in Gary, Indiana? A stunning chateau in Chattanooga, Tennessee? A breathtaking beach in Anywhere, Alabama? Comment below with the location or email us at zilla@bridezilla.com and we'll feature a write up of your cool wedding site in an upcoming post. Bonus points if there's tumble weed blowing around outside.

We're also accepting nominations for crappy wedding sites in cool towns. So if you're inspired to send in a blah banquet hall or horrible hotel that's set against spectacular scenery, send it along!
