Bridezilla Goes Online Discount Shopping

by Bridezilla on April 30, 2009

Note from Bridezilla: Gab Goldenberg guest posted this on behalf of PromotionalCodes.org.uk Promotional Codes is a UK coupon site with coupons for Dixons and vouchers for Boots.

Shop, Save, and Maintain the Bridezilla Mystique

We know, most true bridezillas turn their nose up at online discount shopping and coupon codes. But saving a few dollars here and there means you’ll have more money to spend on your “investment pieces” (that $600 Nordstrom trench). The deals are so good right now, it’s almost irresponsible not to shop. Here’s how to sniff out great online deals without succumbing to a google coma or a firing because you spent six hours at work shoe shopping. Be fast! Be bold! Be a shopping assassin!

Use discount code sites.

There are tons of coupon codes out there and sites that aggregate them for you, so you don’t have to do any of the leg…er finger work. Bookmark these sites and check them everyday, you’ll be surprised at the secret savings.

Look for free shipping.

Free shipping can save you a bunch. This is the deal du jour for many e-commerce sites. Don’t impulse shop — look at those Manolos on multiple websites and when you find the one that offers free shipping, click “buy.” Stock up whenever you find free shipping – a deal worth its weight in gold!

Sign up for newsletters.

Signing up for an e-mail newsletter is like making friends with the clingy shy girl on the playground. You talk to her once and suddenly she’s calling you every five minutes and stopping by your house unannounced. But newsletters offer promotions that you’d otherwise never see. Only sign up for an e-mail newsletter if you really love the store. And remember, unlike with the clingy girl, you can always unsubscribe.

Shop at work without your boss finding out.

We only advocate this if you have one of those wonderful jobs with nothing to do all day. Firefox users can make the Macy’s page they were perusing look like a word document. Click “view,” (at the top) then “page style,” then “no style,” when your boss walks passed. Without all the colors, banners, and glorious fashion they won’t know what you’re doing and you can shop your heart out (or plan your wedding) in secret. Just make sure it looks like you’re working hard!

Love the shop at work without the boss knowing tip! Very clever–I have to give that one a try…
I always use discount code sites. My favorite is Savings.com. It seems to have the most current codes for a whole bunch of different vendors.
