Things that make us Bridezilla against our will
1) Our younger sisters announcing their pregnancies at our engagement parties and stealing our thunder.
2) Wedding Barbie. If we didn't have this little tulle-swathed blonde trollop thrust into our arms at the tender age of three when we could barely chew solid foods, maybe we wouldn't be so convinced that such perfection is the norm-nor would we have started planning our wedding before we gained basic motor skills.

Luckily, it doesn't take the running length of a movie to figure out how to avoid them.

We bridezillas have had it rough, and it's time set the record straight by pointing our perfectly manicured fingers at the real villains, the people who drove us to our dreaded fate: the guestzillas.
While brides are constantly harangued in the media for bad behavior, literally no attention is given to the unsightly conduct of wedding guests who drive brides over the bridezilla brink. And when dark documentary-cum-wedding guest exposes such as "Wedding Crashers" come out, idiot audiences actually mistake them for a light summer comedies. Well no longer! Bad guests are going to get their due. Here are a just a few crowning atrocities that can earn you the guestzilla reputation.

Today a colleague forwarded us Slate's "Diamonds are a Girls Worst Friend" article from the e-zine's wedding edition. In this article, the intrepid Meghan O'Rourke says that engagement rings are wrong because, essentially, they are old-fashioned, un-egalitarian, and put women into sexual slavery.
Despite all the potential perils apparently associated with engagement rings, we think it is much, much more dangerous to marry a guy who doesn't buy you an engagement ring. But you don't have to believe Bridezilla. Just ask Miss Britney Spears.

Wedding Frock Of the Week: Bellantuono
We at Bridezilla have thoroughly relished this year's European Bridal shows, but now it's time to declare a wedding gown winner. It was tough to choose from the bevy of beautiful dresses this year, but our top pick from across the pond is this decadently chic number from Italian atelier Bellantuono.
What sets this stylish gown apart is its stunning mix of old and new. Antique lace feels fresh here when combined with a tailored sillhouette, and the futuristic floral melange blending black ribbon and looping cord feels downright funky. Bella Bridezilla!
Brand New: Buy the Bridezilla Thong!

Never a Bridget Jones' moment when you buy the comfy and sexy Bridezilla thong! Buy it because wedding planning and pantylines don't mix, dear 'zillas.
Bridezillas got back, hayyyyy.
Wedding Flick O' the Week:The Wedding Date

Top Five Fall 2007 Wedding Stationery Trends
Fall is approaching and there's nothing like some fresh new stationery to set the mood for the season of crunchy leaves. Now that you know the importance of written Bridezilla sentiments, fabulous stationery is a must. Bridezilla previewed the latest designer wedding invitation lines from Merrimade to bring you the very best trends for autumn 2007.
Personalization goes Pint-Size. What could be more Victorian than the return of calling cards? Perhaps only the Victorian icon Miss Alice herself, curiously eating cakes that turned her teeny-tiny. On that note, this fall 2007, love turns Lilliputian as we see wedding cake shrunk to individual cupcakes, bouquets distilled to single blooms and wedding invitations including these new chic Kate Spade calling cards from Merrimade. Bridezilla is dialing Kate Spade now to tell her we hope dance cards are next!
Wedding Frock O' the Week: Ralph Lauren Spring 2008

Dizzy off the throes of a fierce Fashion Week, one powerhouse frock from Ralph Lauren's Spring 2008 collection stood out to Bridezilla as most wedding-day worthy. This stylish statement of a dress is sexy-elegant, not that stiff-chic we're so sick of, not to mention we love love love the veiled hat, such a symbol of strong, dramatic romance. The fluid ruffles of the slit leg move like pure poetry and keep the dress fun with just a hint of funk. No doubt we will see both the veiled hat and the black and white wedding gown in heavy rotation for fall weddings, thanks to this fabulous runway show. Last but not least, Bridezilla finds the riding crop a very innovative prop, probably because with a few jewels or flowers it could easily double as a scepter (new bouquet anyone?) Bridezilla Bottom Line: 40 years in the business, and Ralph Lauren's still got it. Bravo, says Bridezilla, Bravo!
Fall Wedding Trend: Beige Goes Breathtaking

From pilgrim to picnic, incarnations of beige are all the rage for fall wedding gowns. Indeed, the elevation of beige is one of Bridezilla's favorite trend to emerge from Bridal Fashion Week.
Do not be alarmed, gentle readers. Before the Spring 2008 Bridal Collections, Bridezilla too viewed beige as a shade best relegated to bar mitzvah suits and funeral flowers. But, like straw into gold, this overlooked color has reincarnated from a loose bride's white into a subtler, more mellow champagne color we just can't get enough of. After a spring and summer heavy on cloying green and pinks, we welcome this elegant change and its crisp, modern connotations. Still not convinced? Check out Bridezilla's dazziling round up of beautiful beige wedding dresses, and you'll see why we'd totally plight our troth in these posh frocks.
Bridezilla Snaps!

The Bloom Is Off The Rose - What Now?
We love this idea, via The Spiraled Stem: loose blooms. They used gorgeous Vendela rose blooms as accents everywhere from the buffet table to the wedding cake itself, and the effect is perfectly divine. We like the creamy white blossoms scattered about, but for an extra Bridezilla touch we say upgrade them to red, the color of love, happiness, and the fiery temper you'll display if the wedding planner tries to convince you that a thousand blossoms aren't feasible for decoration. Want to set the decor truly aflame? Mix in smaller blooms in shades of orange and yellow and sprinkle a little gold glitter on each for a truly eye-catching look.

Fall Wedding Trend #4: Wedding Salon Spectacular

Paul Bott.
4Eclectic Table Cloths. For a wedding look that's very fall 2007, forgo the typical grim linen table cloths in favor of something a little more funky. From textures to toile, Bridezilla's adventures at Wedding Salon taught her an important lesson: for fall 2007 weddings, table cloths are no longer content to play the wall flower, utilizing bold patterns and sensual fabrics to take center stage. In fact, the designer who created the motif pictured above said the table cloth was what inspired this whole eclectic-elegant look. Here are a few more great examples of how to update your wedding table cloth for a more light-spirited look.

Fall Wedding Trend #3: Wedding Salon Spectacular
5Sky-high Centerpieces.
The upwardly-mobile Bridezilla will be happy to know that fall wedding centerpieces are also catching the vertical vision. Towering flowers, glaciers of glass and bundles of big twisty branches were all the rage at Wedding Salon, and Bridezilla can clearly see why! As Bridezilla always says, when it comes to your wedding, the sky is just the beginning-and the new fall wedding centerpiece styles express just that!
Bridezilla of the Month: The Bride of Borat

For spooky October's Bridezilla of the Month, who else would do but the kooky bridesmaid who immortalized the Bridezilla credo "Don't ever leave me....because I'd find you."(Excerpted below for your viewing pleasure) From bedroom fetishes to Fatal Attraction endearments, her role in Wedding Crashers alone would be enough to woo us to christening Isla Fisher as Bridezilla of the Month. But that's just the beginning...
Factor in her upcoming nuptials to none other than Borat, her two best-selling trashy romance novels she wrote at age 18, and her stint as a pantomime, and Fisher's got the Bridezilla of the Month title all sewn up.
Bridezilla Bonus Tips: Not content to rest on her supporting actress laurels, Fisher is making bold moves for female lead comedians, piloting a project called "Groupies" with fellow comedienne and beloved Bridezilla Amy Poehler! Take that,Warner Brothers! Last but not least, she's starring as the irrepressible Becky Bloomwood in the upcoming Shopaholic movie, a character we all know was based on Bridezilla herself. Fierce!
