Why is this Groomzilla so angry about the commercials for a chick flick? Because Bridesmaids is a DAMN. GOOD. MOVIE.

Probably the funniest movie of the year. I honestly cried from laughter. It truly delivered on everything from a star studded cast and a fantastic female lead to a plethora of well-timed BJ and diarrhea jokes.

I’m not even a Kristen Wiig fan. I kind of cringe every time she’s on SNL because she always seems to play odd-ball sketch characters that either have a mild facial deformity or can’t control the volume of their voice. That’s why it was so refreshing to see her act like a normal human being. She has great timing, and it was really fun to see her and Maya Rudolph flex their comedic chops without any censorship.

Bridesmaids Isn’t for Everyone

By all means, Bridesmaids is far more dick-flick than rom-com. While there isn’t any nudity, the movie opens with a creepy Jon Hamm taking it to Wiig like a jackrabbit, and it pretty much goes from there. It’s not all low-brow humor, but most of the jokes involve swearing, vomiting or sexually explicit hand motions, and there are enough f-bombs to keep this comedy out of the broadcast TV movie lineup for the next 50 years.

I think what really grinds my gears about Bridesmaids is how some executive at Universal decided to make it a personal quest to advertise the funniest movie of the summer as a coming of age chick flick mixed with the stench of Bride Wars. Literally, most of the scenes in the trailer didn’t even make it into the final cut.

Worst of all, when I tell all my friends to see Bridesmaids because it really is a good movie, they all think I’m stupid or a liar. Now that I’ve totally over sold this movie, you don’t have to take my word for it. Those Universal execs already figure if you’re getting married this summer, you were going to see it anyway.

Who doesn’t love Four Weddings? Wait – you haven’t seen it yet? Set that DVR to record! It’s thee show for judgmental bridezillas. Four brides with similar wedding themes and budgets battle it out to see who has the “best wedding” of the bunch.
If you obsess over minor details, such as the quality of fake snow at a winter wonderland wedding or find yourself making comments like “her wedding invitations weren’t all that,” this is the wedding TV show for you.

I spoke to Kelly Brown, the Casting Director of TLC’s Four Weddings to see what type of brides they’re searching for.
Brides across every budget, every personality, every wedding theme are welcome to apply.
To apply, you’ll be asked to fill out a questionare and then have to complete several interviews over Skype and in person.
Brown’s words of wisdom for getting on the show, “Be yourself. Everyone’s idea of the perfect wedding is different.” If you’re crowned the bride with the best wedding, you could win a 5-star honeymoon.

As classy and cutting-edge bridezillas, we have no patience for cheesy, over-done wedding dances. Even in the post Michael Jackson Era, the ubiquitous Thriller Dance makes us want to throw up (so over!). But this is a wedding dance of a different sort.
Not only are the dance moves sickeningly sweet (rather than stiff, nervous, or over- choreographed), the giant sunglasses and wild wedding colors made us wish we were bridesmaids in this wedding. Now that’s powerful!

Sometimes bridezilla should let her french twist down and do the unexpected. Look at the result! The wedding guests are having the time of their lives.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds married this weekend in a small private wedding outside Vancouver, British Columbia. When previously asked about her engagement, Scarlett told reporters , “I mean, I’m 23. There’s no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed.” Come again, Scarlett?
Truthfully, we are a little disappointed in Scarlett. All we wanted was to see her walk down the aisle in a vintage Valentino gown. Is that too much to ask? And we had her pegged as a bridezilla!
These days, it seems that celebrities prefer lackluster to lavish. No paparazzi. No castles. No helicopters. Yawn. For the love of bridezilla, please give us a glimpse of your gown or flowers or something. Your entire career was spent in the public eye and now you want a private moment – please.
What are the odds that Scarlett’s marriage outlasts the other celebrity marriages? She’s young, beautiful, and a major star – with these characteristics, it’s not looking good. Britney Spears and Jason Alexander – When Britney was in her hey-day, everyone wanted to see her walk down the aisle. And some of us, admittedly, wanted to see her marry Justin Timberlake. Instead, she eloped with a no-name (Jason Alexander) in Vegas and stayed married for a whopping 2 days and seven hours. Bridezilla hint: impulsively buying chocolate ice cream is fine, impulsively picking a partner for life is not. Total time married: 2 days and seven hours.

Jennifer Lopez and Chris Judd - When it comes to short marriages, she’s a repeat offender. Her first marriage to Chris Judd lasted eight months (the average time it takes bridezilla to plan her wedding) and her second marriage to Ojani Noa lasted just over one year. Don’t forget about her brief engagement to Ben Affleck – otherwise known as pink-diamond gate, 2002. But J-Lo changed her ways and she happily settled down with husband Marc Anthony and twins. Bridezilla hint: sometimes the third time is a charm. Total time married: 8 months.
Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock – Another repeat offender. Pamela Anderson, the queen of rocky marriages to rock stars. We all remember her marriage (and those tattoo wedding rings) to (shudder) Tommy Lee. Her wedding to Kid Rock took place on a yacht near St. Tropez in the French Riviera. According to People.com, she donned a white string bikini. But their marriage at sea wasn’t considered legal because St. Tropez requires a one-month residency before you tie the knot. The couple re-married later in Beverly Hills. Bridezilla hint: if you’re planning a destination wedding, check out the marriage license requirements before you get on the plane. And no bride should walk down the aisle in a bikini, not even Pamela Anderson. Total time married: 2 months.
Cher and Gregg Allman – Bridezillas, be weary of spontaneous Vegas weddings. Three days after her divorce from Sonny Bono, Cher and Gregg Allman flew to Vegas and wed. However, she filed for divorce in a little over a week, citing his drug addiction as the problem. Bridezilla hint: get to know the man before you marry him. Total time married: 9 days.
Rudolph Valentino and Jean Acker - No one is completely sure, but this 1920′s celebrity marriage might beat Britney’s as the shortest of all time. After only six hours, Jean Acker locked Valentino out of the honeymoon suite. He left his bride at the hotel and headed home. Bridezilla hint: if you kick him out on your first day as a married couple, don’t expect him to come back. The couple split in 1919 but didn’t file a divorce until 1922. Total time married: 6 hours.

The recently wed Eva Longoria made her point with this parody video: celeb sex tapes are tawdry and too painfully numerous. Although we didn’t like her wedding, we recognize that million-dollar nondescript nuptials can happen to any Bridezilla, and she does display the key Bridezilla trait of startling wit. So long as she keeps up with clever moments like this and fabulous frocks besides, we’re inclined toward eventual forgiveness.
On the sex tape note, we say if you want to keep your marriage spicy, take a page from Dita’s book with a saucy burlesque striptease or a pin-up shot or two to tuck into his briefcase – the latter at least keeps you clothed enough to get you a free pass should future houseguests come upon your precious Polaroids.
